Apex 2013 AFAIK Part 2 (Smash)

So yeah, more stuff that I know about Apex. Still loosely thrown together because this isn't an official Apex post, this blog isn't "official", and quite frankly I'm doing stuff so I'm just throwing stuff in here as it comes to mind.

Let's see.

__
Cleanup from last post, which I'm typing AFTER the next section. Whoops.

Main Event Games, in no specific order, are Melee singles, Brawl singles, AE, Marvel, TTT2, SC5, KoF13, Persona (and Pokemon, don't care what you say we gettin' hype). Note I specifically said SINGLES and not DOUBLES. Doubles are happening, but it's been decided (finally) that people don't really make a big deal about doubles, just the people who know they're going to win money. My understanding is that it's too much of a hassle to work with (which I back in the sense of working qualifiers), so yah.

Project M is going to be a game in the Development Alley?. I ? because there's no official name for it, but there are like... 5 games for it. It might actually just be part of the Artist Alley.

The pot bonuses were announced on the Apex site. I told you, if you play Brawl, you better go try to get that trip. Same with AE and Marvel.

I think that's all I need to clean up from last post

Lemme just put this out on the table now; I haven't paid a damn bit of attention to the B-Word. Beyond "there are Japanese, Mexicans, and Germans" coming, I literally go back to mashing buttons when that comes up. So unless it was presented to me in a general sense *salute*, I don't know specifics of that.

The Smash TOs have been announced. Melee is going to be Fullmetal again and Battleaxe (I think she still goes by that, I don't know, lol). Handpicked by Fullmetal. The ruleset has been brought up and drafted, but hasn't been discussed. I know the draft needs work because it leaves out some stuff that people don't think about but will happen at something like Apex because people will actually play to win there.

There've been plenty of talks about making sure there is enough equipment, but I know that it's still being worked on. I know people have talked about the room layout as well, specifically how it'll be better (this isn't really much of a Smash problem from what I remember, but it'll effect Smash). Nothing's been set in stone, but I know they've gone and talked to Rutger's staff. The Northerners have also started working on a floor plan. Oh, one funny-but-important thing, I know it costs $2600 a day for AC in the front room. I said "lol you better open a window and start throwing Izze cans at people."

An initial schedule has been posted on the Apex facebook page (and I think tourney threads?) It was discussed many times but never finalized (lol), not gunna tell you how that wound up being posted.

Somebody's going to lose their foot over this, I feel it.

Oh, while sticking to the streaming info, I think it's funny that people keep asking Strife for bonus commentators (melee specific, mind you), and Strife keeps asking me. What people aren't getting is that it's going to come back to me whether they like it or not LOL. I've had a few people ask me on the side to try to get them in, and I'ma work on that. I actually have some ideas.

I think that's all I can think of beyond the annual "I'm still trying to secure a way to Apex"

If you have questions, hit me up somewhere.
