If It Wasn't for Bad Luck, I Wouldn't Have Any Luck at All.

So, the whole computer fiasco. The one where I wound up with two free computers earlier this year (or last year? I forget). I have to update you on that.

Yesterday, I aquired my 4th free computer. I got it by eating the hottest hot wing I've ever eaten in my life. Understand that on the hot wing scale of 1-10, the highest I've ever gone is PROBABLY a 3. I normally get the 2s or 1s. I'm not a hot kinda guy. But my friend "Default" said "Yo, you eat this ONE wing, and I'll give you my computer." And we shook on it. Yes, I understand the computer was not in working condition, but the fix was supposed to be relatively easy, so with no real hesitation, I grabbed the wing and destroyed it.

Then I spent the next 10 minutes contemplating suicide as my mouth refused to cool down. Regardless of the, at the time, future outcome, it was well worth it.

That box has been dubbed the "Default Box". It does not work. The fix was supposed to be putting a new hard drive in it. However, I got slapped in the face by HP. Apparently I can't just PUT a new HD with Windows XP on it in there. The MB still wigs out. After trying to reinstall Windows on there (I don't know WHY my spotter told me to reinstall Windows), the computer started doing this crazy alarm red light special thing I've NEVER seen a computer do. Needless to say, it won't work.

But, before I get into that, I should briefly talk about the "Nikki Box". The Nikki Box was aquired about a week ago from Laswagga and his gf Nikki. See, they're moving out of town, all the f'n way to New Mexico, and they've been ditching stuff left and right to make their trip easier. Among a few other items I've gotten and I've been promised, one of them is Nikki's Box. The thing about her box is... it works perfectly fine. It's a mediocre HP with no video card slot .... （╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻, but it functions. The only REAL flaw with it atm is that it has Linux on it, and Iiiiiiiiiiiiiii don't know a damn thing about Linux. D:

So right now, that brings my computer count up to 6. 7 if I count my dad's super horrible Gateway that he doesn't use. But for the sake of this conversation, 6 subpar-to-non-functional computers.

I have:

The Dogy Box: Which eeds a new power supply (the fan in the current one is dead, beyond that the computer runs fine)

The Shin Box: Needs a new switch... except the case is a "special order-kinda case", and it's bigger than most of the other cases I have (might retry now that I have Default Box)

The Nikki Box: Which is fine, really can't be upgraded to anything awesome. And it's dirty. D:

The Default Box: Needs a new harddrive... but I can't just put one in there...?

The VJ Laptop: Which... is just this crappy laptop. 256 megs of ram HOLLA!

The Flea Laptop: Dude that thing has a ball mouse and windows 95. I refuse to dig that out of the garage.

Tomorrow I'm gunna mess around and see if swapping the power supplies from the Default Box and the Dogy Box is a feasible idea. I cannot...

... swap ANY power supply from any other box. Nikki Box PS is too small, Shin Box PS is specifically made for that case. ...(gets and idea and calls the spotter).

... move the Shin Box stuff to another Box, the MB is too big. (I may be able to move it to the Default Box)

eh, that's all I have for now on this. I'll keep you updated on any further findings. I'm still looking to just buy a new computer in the near future. Depends on how much money I haul in within the next 2 months.
